Helene and Martin Schwalberg, owners of The Meissen Shop.

After 28 years on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida, The Meissen Shop recently closed its retail location. The owners, Helene and Martin Schwalberg, premier experts on Meissen porcelain, will continue to order new Meissen by request and will look for special antique pieces for collectors.

The Meissen factory has been in existence since 1710 and continues its tradition of meticulously hand painting porcelain of the finest quality. It has a very wide range of production, from complete table services in the Onion Pattern, the Swan Service and 1001 Nights, to a large selection of figures as the Monkey Orchestra, the Hentschel Children Series, birds and animals. Our customers have been adding modern pieces to their existing antique services and have been very pleased with the results.

The Schwalbergs have given many illustrated lectures at museums, antique clubs and appraisers associations. Objects acquired from The Meissen Shop are in several museums around the country including the Wark Collection of Early Meissen Porcelain in the Cummer Gallery of Art in Jacksonville, Florida, the H. Lloyd Hawkins, Jr. Meissen Collection of over 350 Meissen figures at the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Kathy and Ronald Gillmeister Collection of Early Meissen Porcelain at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, California.

The Meissen Shop has membership in the American Ceramic Circle.
